Gina K Petite Geranium Hello

I find myself liking/loving more and more of Gina K Designs products.  This is the Petite Geranium stamp set.  The geranium was stamped on a stitched oval and colored with Copic markers.  The rest is layers of cardstock and one piece of patterned paper (green) from Gina K's Watercolor Floral paper pack.

Thanks for visiting today.  Happy stamping Saturday.

Pretty Posy Thank You Gina K

I love these products from Gina K Designs.  I've used the Pretty Posy stamp set for the floral and the So Many Sentiments set for the sentiment on the front and on the inside.

The embossed layer is the Petite Flourish Embossing Folder and the pattern paper is from Gina K's Watercolor Floral paper pack.

Thanks for stopping in today.

He's All That Fathers Day Card

This Father's Day card is for my son who is a great Dad to my two grandchildren.  It's all Stampin Up and totally cased from a card I saw on Pinterest made by Stamping Jill.

Have a great day and thanks for visiting today.

Kindergarten Graduation Card

My grandson graduated from kindergarten and this is the card I made for him.  I just love the Anita Jeram stamps from Colorado Craft Co.  I struggle with choosing the colors for the critters.  These guys were colored with Copics, die cut and layered on paper from Stampin Up onto a mini slimline card base.  He's six and although he liked his card he kept looking to see if there was something else (like $) in the card!  Fortunately there was a gift of colored pencils in the gift bag.  He was excited about those!

Thanks for visiting today.  Hope you have a good day.

Gina K Watercolor Spring Kit

I really liked this Watercolor Spring Card Kit from Gina K.  It sold out so fast I wasn't quick enough to get it when it was first released.  Due to many requests Gina K was able to re-release the kit the following month.  This is the first card I've made with the kit. Everything on the card is from the kit including the ink used to stencil  the lattice on the oval.  Flowers are from the ephemera pack and paper from the paper pack.  Sentiment is from the So Many Sentiments stamp set.

I don't think I am a creative person.  But this time I got out the kit and starting playing without a thought to how or what I was going to do.  Normally I go to Pinterest for ideas but this time it was all me.  And I'm sure it's not a new design by any stretch.  I'm happy with how it came out.  Maybe I'll try this more often!

Foxy Friend Card

I placed an order with Art Impressions stamps and the cute little fox on my card was a freebee stamp that came along with my order.  He was colored with Copic markers and then fussy cut.  The large wreath is a retired Stampin Up stamp on a die cut circle and then layered onto a black die cut circle.  Embossing folder from Stampin Up and the sentiment from Altenew.    I knew if I didn't use him right away he would get lost in the pile on my desk.  Hope you all have a wonderful day.  It will be 92 here today in South Carolina.  Too hot for me!

Thanks for stopping by.

Playing with Colored Pencils

After watching Gina K's video using colored pencils I decided to bring them out to play.  There is no die for this image which is a retired flower image from Stampin Up.  So I had to do my best to fussy cut it.  On top of that I picked up the wrong paper stump to color with Gamsol.  I had not heard of Tortillions.  They were included in the kit of paper stumps I purchased on Amazon and they are hollow and made of paper as opposed to pulp for the regular stumps usually used for coloring.  It didn't turn out too bad (better than horrible as Gina and Tom would say).  I could go on about the mistakes in this card but.....here it is just the same.

Waves of Inspiration and Sea Life Cards Stampin Up

Inspiration for these cards came from the Paper Pixie blog here.  Sea Horse, star fish and fish are from Seas the Day stamps and dies and Waves die for the large wave.  I love the beautiful paper from Stampin Up - Waves of the Ocean dsp and the Blue Foils Specialty collection.  The slimline card was made from scraps from other "sea" cards I made or tried to make.

Now I'm off to "Seas the Day".  Tee hee!  Have a wonderful day.

Easter Cards for the Grandkids!

I made these cards and one other from stamps and dies from my stash.  I had planned to make cards from things I had on order but instead needed the cards for a last minute Easter outing that wouldn't allow me to receive my order on time to make the cards.  The one other card I made also from my stash is below.
All the sentiments were from Stampin Up.  The die cut bunnies were from dies I've had for a while and can't remember where they came from.  The embossing folder on the card with the 3 large bunnies is from Stampin Up and long retired.  I used a cover plate die from Concord and 9th, new to me, on the card with the small white bunnies and the tulip card.  Tulips stamp is also retired from Stampin Up.  A lot of my stamping tools, stamps and dies are still packed away from my recent move.  Coming up with these cards is a miracle for me.  And now I know that I don't always need to  buy new!!  What a concept!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Happy Easter!

Seas the Day 5x7 Stampin Up Card

This style card is called a column pop up card.  The directions can be found on Linda Heller's blog post here.  I chose to use the Seas the Day bundle from Stampin Up for this 5x7 card.  I always like sea/ocean scene stamps and dies so I buy too many!  The dsp is from the Waves of the Ocean early release collection.  Love the colors in this paper, perfect for ocean scenes.  I love the way it turned out.  It took a little time but it's worth it.

Sunflower Digi - Gina K Designs

Purchased this digital Pocketful of Sunshine sunflower set from Gina K Designs.  All proceeds go to help Ukraine.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  It's hard to see in the photo but I tried to give the pocket some texture using Gina's technique from her video.  I added some Wink of Stella to the center but even in real life it doesn't show up as much as I'd hoped.  I do still like it though.

Thanks for visiting today.  Enjoy your day.

Garden Roses

Garden Roses from Pink Fresh Studio is such a pretty set.  And the sentiments in it were just what I wanted.  You can find the collection here at Pink Fresh.  I've used the stencil to color it along with 3 of 4 coordinating Pink Fresh pink inks.  The die cuts out the entire image.  I cut 3 layers of the die coloring only the top layer.  Added some pink gems from my stash along with the Smiles and Hugs sentiment also from the collection.  This was one of my first attempts at coloring an image with a layering stencil.  I like how it turned out.  Hope you do too.

Thanks for visiting.  Have a happy day today.

Starting Over.....again!

It's hard to believe I stopped blogging over a year ago.  Life happens and now 2021 is a huge blur.  Here it is 2022 and I've decided I'm finally in a state of mind to start posting again.  Life isn't settled by any means.  But I've started making cards again.  And that's a good thing.  So here goes....

This was a set of dies from Crafters Companion called Create-a-Card, African Savannah.  It is three layers on top of a Peekaboo Peach mat on top of the black card base.  The background is a piece of  New Horizons 6x6 Stampin Up paper.  I thought the colors blended well with the Peekaboo Peach (retired SU card stock).  I kept the three layers all black to make it easy since this is my first time crafting in quite a while.  I'm happy with the silhouette look of this card.  I hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping in today.  Have a great day!
